Door opens for Liverpool to complete unbelievable Jude Bellingham deal
Liverpool are plotting a midfield refit ahead of the summer transfer window.
There are question marks over both Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones.
Macca, 27, is a long way short of his 2024/25 Premier League title-winning best and could be sold if no new contract is agreed.
Jones is out of contract in 2027 and he too could be sacrificed amid interest from Inter Milan and Aston Villa.
Those departures would open the door to a big-money arrival and according to a report from Spain the club have got Jude Bellingham once again in their sights.
The 22-year-old chose Real Madrid ahead of Anfield back in 2023 when he left Borussia Dortmund. The former Birmingham player hit the ground running for Madrid - winning the Champions League in his first season - but his output has regressed since then.
Bellingham has missed matches this season with shoulder and hamstring injuries and looks like he could do with a change of scenery.

Alexis Mac Allister could be sold if he does not agree to a new contract and is not performing at his previous Premier League title-winning level.

It’s been a season to forget for Los Blancos and Fichajes claims that Bellingham is no longer considered untouchable.
Under contract until 2029 it would take a mammoth effort to prise him out of the Bernabeu but it would appear that Madrid decision-makers are at least considering the possibility of a sale.
“Despite his youth and enormous potential, the Englishman is no longer considered untouchable,” the report reads.
“The possibility of a sale in the upcoming summer transfer window has gained momentum in recent weeks, especially given the interest from several Premier League clubs.
“Liverpool FC appears to have taken the lead. The Anfield club has been following the player for some time and believes his profile is a perfect fit for their project.”
Liverpool last restocked their midfield back in 2023 with the arrivals of Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch and the aforementioned Mac Allister.
The sector really needs to be freshened up - with other links existing for the likes of Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton. But Bellingham’s arrival would trump the lot - coming in with a reputation as one of the best players in the world.
