The NFL draft is just two days away, and snippets of information continue to trickle out throughout the media landscape.
Titans Canāt Go Wrong At 4
The belief from those close to the Titans organization Iāve spoken with is that the Titans canāt go wrong at pick No. 4. This is due to a combination of the team having so many needs and the players expected to be available to them fitting those needs.
I mentioned from the Senior Bowl that edge rusher David Bailey fits the Titans defense like a duck on water, and Iām told he is the game-changer new head coach Robert Saleh covets. Yet itās unlikely the Texas Tech product falls into the Titansā laps. The team likes both Sonny Styles and Jermiyah Love, yet it believes the Ohio State linebacker is the safer pick for their scheme.
Would the Titans take Rueben Bain Jr.? Iām told they would not take him with the fourth pick; rather, they would consider Bain if they trade down and he were available.
A lot of these tracks, based on what some other analysts have said recently, are about Styles over Bailey, but it is the first time any analyst or insider has pointed to Styles over Love. Hās not wrong, Styles is a perfect fit for Robert Salehās defense, and should slide right into the lineup.
The idea of being open to Bain if the team does, in fact, trade back also makes sense. The Titans have done a lot of work on Bain, but his athletic profile and physical limitations make him a greater risk at the fourth overall pick.
