Drew Kittleson and Drew Stoltz are competing in the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball in Arizona after being runners-up in 2022 and 2023. The event has only had a few West Coast hosts since its inception.

The Drew and Drew Show is making another run at a U.S. Amateur Four-Ball title. If good buds Drew Kittleson and Drew Stoltz come up short again though, well, it won't be for lack of having fun.
The Kittleson/Stoltz duo was twice the runners-up, in both 2022 and 2023 in the now 11-year-old U.S. Golf Association event. Maybe 2026 has something in their favor: home cooking.
The Olympic Club hosted the first Four-Ball in 2015 but there's only been two other West Coast hosts since then: Bandon Dunes in 2019 and Chambers Bay in 2021.

This year, the two Arizona-based golfers will be among those taking aim at Desert Mountain's Outlaw (stroke play) and Cochise (match play) courses in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Golf fans probably know that the Jack Nicklaus-designed Cochise course hosted a PGA Tour Champions major, The Tradition, from 1989 to 2001. Desert Mountain also hosted the 1999 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur and the Charles Schwab Cup Championship (2012, 2014-2016).
Nowadays, it's a course that the Drews are getting familiar with. The two play a lot of golf at nearby Whisper Rock but, just as Rory McIlroy did with his Masters prep, frequenting Augusta National for advance scouting trips, these two will do the same with Desert Mountain, minus the private jet travel.
"We're going to have a home-field advantage," Stoltz said at a recent media day in advance of the tournament. "We might as well have some home field advantage, you know what I mean?
"And I do think there's something to just being comfortable with desert golf. Like, this is what we play."
Kittleson may be a tad more familiar with this style of golf. He grew up near Desert Highlands, also in the area, and home to the original Skins Game.
"When I say home, I mean this is home," said Kittleson, who recently sold a home remodeling business Re-Bath that he ran with his dad. Stoltz, meanwhile, is the co-host of the popular golf podcast alongside Colt Knost called Golf Subpar.

The U.S. Amateur Four-Ball has been hosted on the West Coast three times, including the Olympic Club in 2015, Bandon Dunes in 2019, and Chambers Bay in 2021.
Competing in their home state of Arizona may provide Drew Kittleson and Drew Stoltz with a familiar environment and support, potentially improving their chances of winning.

Both Drews tried their hand at the pro ranks, with Stoltz playing a handful of events across the PGA Tour, the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Americas, but they have found their niche, together, in the Four-Balls, although their launch point goes back to some friendly trash talk.

"We had two pals," Kittleson explains, "they go play and they finish in like the semis or the quarterfinals up in Bandon Dunes. And in this group text, we're like 'Man, if you guys make the quarters, we'd kill you guys' and then we're like 'well, let's go play' and that's how it happened."
Being a team event, if one guy isn't sharp during a particular round, he can hope that his teammate is.
"When it's kind of your day, it's just 'all right man, it's you,'" Kittleson said. "You just kind of let them, if you're feeling it, you just kind of stay all the way and let them go."
"It's the perfect marriage of competition, getting that fix that you missed when you do stopped playing, week after week on whatever tour you're playing on, but also fun at the same time. The camaraderie, the team aspect, we have a good time out there," Stoltz said, adding: "This feels like a real event when you get into it and it's like the one time you hear, like we joke about like, 'all right now. This one matters.'"
The 2026 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball is May 16-20.
