The Duke Blue Devils' backcourt is getting crowded for the 2026-27 college basketball season.
They already knew Cayden Boozer is returning to school, and they learned earlier this week that John Blackwell is transferring in from Wisconsin.
On Wednesday, they learned that Caleb Foster is coming back to Duke for another season, which was shared as a press release by the program.
The 6-foot-5 Foster has played three seasons of college basketball with Duke and is running it back for one more.
He was a top-20 recruit in the Class of 2023 and has stayed with the Blue Devils even in an era when transferring is more common than ever before.
Foster had his best statistical season in 2025-26 as he averaged 8.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
Foster also shot 39.8% from 3-point range and a career-best 44.7% from the floor.
He missed time near the end of the season with an injury that forced Duke to play some big games without him, but Foster is clearly a player Jon Scheyer knows he can rely on.
The Blue Devils will have some work to do to figure out who will get the various splits of playing time in the season ahead, but that's a good problem to have.
More and more, it's looking like Isaiah Evans will be leaving for the NBA.
Caleb Foster has played three seasons with the Duke Blue Devils, contributing significantly to the team's performance.
In addition to Caleb Foster, Cayden Boozer is also returning, and John Blackwell is transferring in from Wisconsin.
Foster's return adds depth to Duke's backcourt, which is becoming increasingly competitive with the addition of new players.
