Wisconsin men's basketball hasn't always had the best track record when it comes to recruiting.
Greg Gard knocks it out of the park when bringing in international talent, but it's the in-state recruits who seem to give him the biggest trouble.
Badgers fans know their team would've been quite different if Milwaukee native Kon Knueppel, who just finished second in NBA rookie of the year voting, played for Wisconsin instead of Duke.
Now, the Blue Devils are targeting his brother as well. Kager, Kon's younger brother, is a 6-foot-10 superstar who received an offer from Duke on April 28.
Much like his older brother, Kager plays for Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, WI. 247Sports has him as the No. 5 player in the state when it comes to class of 2027 recruits.
Sure, Wisconsin extended an offer to Kager on February 23, but one has to wonder what that offer means now that Duke is in the mix. This would undoubtedly be the biggest addition to the Badgers roster in quite some time; it's just a matter if Gard ends up winning the battle or not.
Currently, it's hard to tell, but Wisconsin had to have known it was only a matter of time before Duke put themselves in the picture.
