For the last five seasons, the Philadelphia Eagles have alternated between losing a game in the wild-card round and making it to the Super Bowl.
So naturally, after winning Super Bowl 59 after the 2024 season, Philadelphia lost in the wild-card round to end 2025. The offseason since that loss has included a fired offensive coordinator, rampant trade rumors surrounding the Eagles' top receiver and a report indicating quarterback Jalen Hurts was to blame for the disappointing 2025 campaign.
For the Eagles to stick to the pattern and return to the Super Bowl β and perhaps win it again β in another even-numbered year, they'll need to bolster their roster in the 2026 NFL Draft. Heading into the draft, general manager Howie Roseman has set himself up for success.
The Eagles have four top-100 picks in the draft this year and four additional picks in the latter four rounds of the draft. That means Philadelphia has a chance to both add starting-caliber talent early and bring in additional depth to positions in need of reinforcement later on.

Eagles 2026 NFL Draft needs
Offensive line
Offensive line is not an imminent need for the Eagles in 2026, but it's a position that could use some additional reinforcement looking ahead. Right tackle Lane Johnson will be back this year, but he seems to be on the doorstep of retirement. Roseman has a history of replacing aging veterans on the O-line before it's immediately necessary β see: center Cam Jurgens, who was drafted two seasons before Jason Kelce retired.
For a team that has prided itself on a strong offensive line and has built an offensive identity around that, bringing in additional O-line help would make a lot of sense.
Wide receiver
Will A.J. Brown be traded? While the answer remains unclear, things can change in a heartbeat in NFL negotiations. Throughout the offseason, it has seemed that Philadelphia's lead receiver is available for the right price, particularly after Brown frequently publicized his frustrations with the Eagles and their offense during the 2025 season.
Even if Brown isn't traded, the Eagles could use extra depth at the position behind Brown and DeVonta Smith. Philadelphia has a potential out in Brown's contract after the 2026 season, making him easier to move in a potential trade (or release). Given Roseman's penchant for planning ahead, it feels likely the Eagles will add a wideout in the draft.
Edge rusher
The Eagles struggled to figure out their pass-rush situation in 2025. They signed Za'Darius Smith one game into the season, then Brandon Graham β who had originally retired in March 2025 β un-retired to give the Eagles extra help on the edge amid injuries to Nolan Smith and Azeez Ojulari.
Smith retired after 2025, and Graham is now technically a free agent β if he doesn't retire again. Jaelan Phillips, who joined the Eagles ahead of last year's trade deadline, landed in Carolina in free agency. Philadelphia could really use more help generating pressure off the edge to complement Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis' efforts on the interior.
