Injured White a major doubt for World Cup
Arsenal's Ben White out for the season, doubtful for World Cup.
The Philadelphia Eagles received a C+ offseason grade despite significant roster upgrades and coaching changes. Analysts suggest the team is preparing for a transitional season after recent player turnover.
And, just like that, the early stages of free agency and another NFL draft are in our rearview mirror. The Philadelphia Eagleshave been busy. We've seen coaching turnover and player turnover. Familiar faces exited stage left, allowing for new prospects and additions to join the defending NFC East champions.
Apparently, all of that adds up to a C+.
Bleacher Reportās Brent Sobleski recently shared his offseason report card for every team. He handed the Eagles a fairly uninspiring offseason grade, suggesting Philadelphia largely āheld serveā throughout the spring while preparing for what could become another transitional season offensively.
Honestly, the grade feels slightly incomplete. Jonathan Greenard's draft-night acquisition wasn't mentioned, and as Sobleski mentions, "The biggest move of the Philadelphia Eagles' offseason remains to be seen." Here's more:
"AJ Brown is expected to be traded once his contract becomes more feasible to do so. Otherwise, the Eagles have held serve throughout the last few months. Edge-rusher Jaelan Phillips, linebacker Nakobe Dean, and safety Reed Blankenship left in free agency. Cornerback Riq Woolen, edge-rusher Arnold Ebiketie, and wide receiver signed."

Jonathan Greenard was acquired during the draft and is considered a significant addition, although his impact has not yet been fully assessed.

Sobleski correctly highlighted several important developments, particularly Rosemanās aggressive move up the draft board ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers to land wide receiver Makai Lemon. That decision alone felt like vintage Roseman. It was proactive, bold, and probably smarter than most initially realized.
"Eli Stowers' addition in this year's second round paves the way for veteran Dallas Goedert's eventual departure as well. The same can be said of third-round rookie Markell Bell once All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson is finally ready to retire. The impact of these moves may not be felt immediately, but the Eagles continue to replenish a talented roster and keep the team among the NFC's best."
Philadelphia didnāt simply replace Jaelan Phillips after his departure. The Eagles arguably landed a more complete and dependable veteran presence at a lower financial commitment. Greenard brings leadership, pass-rush consistency, and the exact type of professionalism that younger defenders like Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt should benefit from immensely.
That matters. The same could be said of the addition of Riq Woolen, which continues to fly strangely under the radar. Philadelphia already featured one of the NFLās better young cornerback groups, but adding Woolen creates matchup flexibility and length that defensive coordinators dream about. Opposing offenses could find themselves dealing with an uncomfortable amount of size and athleticism on the perimeter next season. Offensively, the Eagles may also be preparing for life after A.J. Brown, whether fans are emotionally ready for that conversation or not.
If Brown is eventually moved, Philadelphia clearly believes Lemon, Hollywood Brown, DeVonta Smith, Eli Stowers, and Saquon Barkley can collectively maintain explosiveness within Sean Mannion's evolving offense. That's not necessarily unreasonable. That said, perhaps a C+ reflects uncertainty more than failure. The Eagles undeniably lost talent this offseason. They may also have quietly become younger, deeper, and more sustainable over the long term. History says betting against Roseman after a āquestionableā offseason usually ages poorly.
