Eagles Review of Offseason is Spot on After NFL Draft

During the NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles were really one of the teams that did it all. In fact, there's a strong argument that the Eagles were the most impressive team throughout the draft, doing what was needed on both the trade and draft fronts.

Not only did the Eagles land guys like Makai Lemon, Eli Stowers, and others, but they also went out and made a trade with the Minnesota Vikings for Jonathan Greenard.

Instead of Howie Roseman sitting back and trying to find an edge rusher in the draft, he knew he had to go out there and add a veteran talent in Greenard, and did exactly that.

However, despite the addition of a player of Greenard's caliber, it doesn't sound like the Eagles are done just yet on the edge rushing front. It was recently reported by The Athletic that the Eagles will likely look to add some more depth options at edge in the later stages of the offseason.

“Wide receiver Makai Lemon and tight end Eli Stowers should immediately contribute. GM Howie Roseman leveraged his draft capital in trades for Lemon, a top-15 player on their board, and edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, whom the Eagles signed to a four-year, $100 million contract with $50 million guaranteed.

“They picked Markel Bell (No. 68) and Micah Morris (No. 207), which gives them depth behind a starting lineup of Pro Bowl-caliber players, but doesn’t preclude them from taking bigger swings in 2027. I wouldn’t expect the Eagles to be done adding depth at edge rusher and safety this summer,” Brooks Kubena of The Athletic wrote.

It remains uncertain exactly what the Eagles are looking for on the edge front, but that wording suggests we could be looking at a veteran coming in and making an impact for this organization.

The Eagles likely aren't going to want to trade much draft capital for another edge rusher, but if they can sign a cheap free agent, someone who has been around the league for quite some time, it would make sense as a depth piece.
