Man City struggle but go top of the Premier League and relegate Burnley
Man City secures top spot in Premier League with 1-0 win over Burnley, relegating them to the Championship.
Eagles safety Andrew Mukuba has fully recovered from a broken ankle that ended his rookie season on injured reserve. He is expected to be ready for the 2026 season, where he will play a key role in the team's defense.
Mentioned in this story
After starting at safety in all eleven games to begin his career, Andrew Mukuba suffered a broken ankle during last year's Week 12 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Mukuba was placed on injured reserve, and his rookie season came to a premature end.
Five months later, Mukuba appears to be fully recovered and ready to go for 2026.
Mukuba, selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, immediately won the starting job and recorded 46 tackles, three pass breakups, and two interceptions before getting injured. His first career interception came off Patrick Mahomes in Week 2 to prevent a red-zone score.
The Eagles lost their other starting safety, Reed Blankenship, to the Houston Texans in free agency, so Vic Fangio will be heavily relying on Mukuba to stabilize the backend. The vacancy across from him will likely be determined in training camp in an open competition between Marcus Epps, Michael Carter II, and whoever they draft at the position.
Mukuba had his highs and lows in coverage last season, but was outstanding against the run. His 81.9 run defense grade was 12th-highest among all safeties, per Pro Football Focus.
