Eaton Rapids senior forward Kennedie Crow scored five goals in a 6-0 victory over Lansing Catholic, reaching her 100 career goals milestone. Crow also assisted on the other goal scored by Delaney Collins.
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) ā Eaton Rapids senior forward Kennedie Crow reached the 100-career goal milestone on Tuesday night by scoring five times in a 6-0 win over Lansing Catholic.
Crow, a two-time All-State player, also had the assist on the other Greyhound goal, which was scored by Delaney Collins.
āIāve definitely been looking for that as a goal for this season so I was really excited to achieve it,ā said Crow. āI definitely wasnāt expecting to achieve that in this game. I really thought that this was going to be a tough game and I really wanted to make sure that my team was prepared. But I couldnāt be happier for the outcome today.ā
Eaton Rapids and Lansing Catholic finished as co-conference champions a season ago and were both unbeaten in CAAC White play this year coming into the game.
The milestone was also a special moment between father and daughter, as Kennedieās dad Andrew is Eaton Rapidsā head coach.
āOh man, I couldnāt be more proud,ā said Andrew. āTo have a player come through thatās got the kind of talent she has, that works as hard as she does, that loves the game as much as she does and really supports her teammates, I mean, thatās a coachās dream.ā
āHaving my dad as a coach has made it so that Iāve had to be held to a higher standard,ā added Kennedie. āHeās been really tough on me but I couldnāt be more grateful for that opportunity to have someone be so tough on me. All itās done is just made me mentally tougher in those close games, and then being able to achieve something like this, I couldnāt have done it without him, but I also couldnāt have done it without any of my teammates.ā
Crow is set to continue her playing career at Northwood University but has more goals to chase in her senior season with the Greyhounds first.
Eaton Rapids hasnāt lost a conference game in the four years Crow has been in the program, posting a combined record of 18-0-2 in league games. Mondayās win puts them one step closer to a fourth straight conference championship.
The program had never won a conference title before this senior class came into the program.
āThis group of seniors, as freshmen we really just worked to make the team somewhere that people wanted to be,ā said Kennedie. āHonestly, I think thatās the proudest thing for me.ā
