Eberl: Bayern contract talks with Kane before the World Cup

Bayern Munich will hold contract renewal talks with forward Harry Kane after the club season and before the start of the World Cup, board member for sport Max Eberl said on Monday.

Eberl confirmed statements from supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that they will sit down with the England captain after Bayern's final game to talk about an extension beyond 2027.

"That’s what we’ve agreed with Harry. Before the World Cup, we’ll sit down and try to work something out together,” Eberl said before Bayern's departure to Paris for Tuesday's Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada starts on June 11. If Bayern reach the Champions League final that match on may 30 will be their last. if not, their final one will be the German Cup final on May 23.

Former Bayern CEO Rummenigge had earlier told the t-online it is Bayern's "clear aim to renew his (Kane's) contract."

Kane came to Bayern in 2023 from Tottenham Hotspur for a club record €100 million ($117 million) and has scored 138 goals for them in 141 matches.
