Okorie was an Associated Press All-American honorable mention last season, averaging 23.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals while shooting 35.4% from 3-point range. He led the ACC in scoring, while ranking seventh among all players in the country.
The 6-foot-2 guard, who is among the 70-plus prospects competing in the combine this week, declared for the draft last month. He is considered a likely first-round pick, a projection that likely solidified his decision to remain in the draft.
Okorie set the record for the highest scoring average by a freshman in ACC history, surpassing the previous mark set by R.J. Barrett in the 2017-18 season (22.6). He registered eight 30-point performances, the most by a freshman in conference history.
The 19-year-old is highly touted in the draft this year because of his scoring and ability to pull up from virtually all over the court. Averaging 7.3 free-throw attempts with the Cardinal, Okorie put tremendous pressure on defenses on a nightly basis.
Okorie is one of just 12 freshmen since 2000 to average at least 20 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. His 719 points were the third-most ever by any player in program history, just 16 shy of Adam Keefe for the all-time record.
