Automatic promotion Ipswich's to lose as relentless Saints run continues
Ipswich Town's promotion chances are at risk after a tough match against Middlesbrough.
Dana White has backed out of a boxing match with Eddie Hearn, stating he is not interested in the fight. White criticized Hearn's comments about their potential matchup, calling him a 'bum' and downplaying the significance of the fight.
It looks like the Dana White-Eddie Hearn rivalry won't escalate to a boxing match between the two promoters.
Although he made the original callout to fight, White has changed his tune on fighting Hearn. The UFC CEO hasn't outright said no to the fight, but he seems far from interested in getting in the ring with the Englishman. Speaking with reporters at Saturday's UFC Fight Night 273 post-fight press conference in Winnipeg, Canada, White poured cold water on the potential matchup that not long ago seemed to be heating up.
"Listen, Eddie says a lot of dumb sh*t. I'm getting used to it," White said. "Eddie said that me and him are the biggest fight in boxing. Therein lies the problem with boxing. And the fact that a fight promoter who's actually put on big fights and had a stable of good fighters would say something that fucking stupid is starting to not be as shocking as it was in the beginning. But you're a fucking bum. I'm old. And we don't even deserve to be on a card with a bunch of real fighters."
It didn't take Hearn long to issue a response, as he addressed White's comments the same day at the Whittaker-Suarez post-fight press conference.
"So you called me out for a fight, I accepted," Hearn said. "Listen, p*ssy. If I'm a p*ssy, then come show me I'm a p*ssy. Now he's going, 'I'm 57 years old.' No, you told me I wouldn't do it and I'm a p*ssy, so what are you? An old p*ssy? I know the numbers. I know the business. The only thing that can stop the fight from happening is Dana White, p*ssy. So really, the truth of the matter is, he's backing out of the fight he called on. So who's the p*ssy now?
"Where's your balls gone, p*ssy? You can't keep calling me a p*ssy when you call me out for a fight and I accept the fight and you go, 'Oh, no. We're bums. It would go earlier on in the fight.' What the f*ck is that? We would main event and sell out a massive stadium. You don't think we could do over a million buys globally? Like I said, it will probably just be fantasy because, unfortunately, Dana White backed out of the fight."
White and Hearn, who not long ago were on amicable terms, have been feuding ever since White stepped into the boxing realm with Zuffa Boxing. It's been a very eventful saga with many layers. Most notably, White signed Conor Benn, one of Hearn's long-time clients, to Zuffa Boxing, and Hearn signed UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall for representation to his Matchroom talent agency. Throughout 2026, both have criticized each other's practices, with White saying Hearn is an incompetent boxing promoter and Hearn blasting White's business practices and poor fighter pay and treatment.
