The Oklahoma City Thunder dismissed the Los Angeles Lakers 108-90 at Paycom Center on Tuesday, and while the scoreline was one problem, Austin Reaves' performance became a separate conversation entirely.
With Luka Doncic still sidelined by a hamstring injury, Reaves was supposed to be the team's second scoring option. He finished with eight points on 3-of-16 shooting, went 0-for-5 from three, and committed four turnovers across 36 minutes.
LeBron James gave the Lakers everything he had, scoring 27 points on 12-of-17 from the field. Rui Hachimura added 18. Chet Holmgren ran things on the other end with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Emmanuel Acho, co-host of the Speakeasy show, wasted no time. "Austin Reaves should be ashamed of himself. The Lakers CANNOT win with Austin Reaves scoring eight points. It's just not gonna happen," he said on air after the game.
Acho added that this was not a night he found surprising.
"In the playoffs, Austin Reaves goes ghost, particularly against quality on-ball defenders that are not afraid of contact. They're not afraid to get up in Austin Reaves' face. He doesn't have the first step to get by you when they can close gaps, or you're not given wide-open three-point shots. And in the playoffs, the refs aren't calling those ticky-tack fouls. Austin Reaves was abysmal tonight. You cannot win if you're the Lakers with Austin Reaves scoring eight points. It's just not gonna happen," he continued.
Since returning from the oblique injury, Reaves has shot 30.4 percent from the field in three games. Lakers coach JJ Redick kept his position measured. "He didn't play well, but he's going to bounce back. He is a great player," Redick told reporters.
Game 2 is Thursday against the defending champions. Without Doncic and without a functional Reaves, there is not much room left before this series starts slipping away for real.
