Before Harry Kane left the Premier League to join Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, a major point of contention was the all-time EPL goalscoring record. Kane needed just 47 more goals to match football legend Alan Shearer in the scoring charts, and had a good chance of breaking the record if he had stayed with Tottenham Hotspur for a couple more seasons.
Shearer seems rather glad that he decided to leave. Speaking to Prime Video (via @iMiaSanMia) the former Newcastle United striker implored Harry to stay in Germany.
“I’m all for him [Kane] signing a new contract at Bayern,” said Shearer. “He’s having a great time in Germany. He should absolutely stay there.”
Kane, who has already won the Bundesliga top scorer award twice, eyes more and more professional silverware as Bayern Munich chases titles on all three fronts. Looking at his exploits in Germany, Shearer can probably breathe a sigh of relief. There is no way that FC Bayern will let him go now.
