ESPN insider teases Seahawks' fascinating Jalen Milroe plan for 2026

Milroe only played in three games during the 2025 NFL season, and he ran the ball three times for four yards, with a long carry of just three yards. He also fumbled once during his limited action in 2025.

His three rushing attempts in 2025 came on the three snaps he played for the team last year. Milroe was seldom used for Seattle's offense during the regular season, though he did produce a bit in the preseason.

In the preseason, Milroe ran for 87 yards on 15 attempts with three fumbles and no touchdowns. As a passer, he went 22-of-39 for a 56.4% completion rating with 255 passing yards and one touchdown and no interceptions.

While Milroe didn't get much action all year for Seattle as a rusher or passer, Fowler's report indicates the Seahawks are hoping to use Milroe as an extension of the running game and get him more work this season.

While Milroe didn't test at the NFL Scouting Combine, he is a very fast and athletic quarterback who could be a great dual-threat QB in the NFL.

What's interesting about this report is that the Seahawks are seemingly going to use him even if Darnold is still the starter. Milroe, acting as an extension of the running game, could be one of the more fascinating developments of the 2062 season.

It's still very early, and a lot can change from now until the regular season. But, based on Fowler's report, fans should keep an eye out for Milroe to be involved in the running game in 2026, as he could help be a stopgap with Price until Zach Charbonnet is back.
