ESPN predicts that Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling will be the only Georgia player selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, potentially ending a four-year streak of multiple first-round picks. The draft will occur in Pittsburgh from April 23 to April 25.
Entering the 2026 NFL draft, the Georgia Bulldogs have had eight straight years with a first-round draft pick. ESPN's Peter Schrager predicts that streak will continue on Thursday night.
In Schrager's final mock draft, he predicts that Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling will be selected with the No. 21 pick. Schrager predicts the Pittsburgh Steelers will draft Freeling. If the Steelers draft Freeling, then that'd be one of the top moments in the draft since Pittsburgh is hosting the three-day event.
"Freeling started for only a season and a half in college, but he's athletic and has a lot of starter-level traits," Schrager said on the Georgia NFL draft hopeful. Freeling emerged as a clear first-round pick with an elite performance at the 2026 NFL combine.
Freeling is the only Georgia player predicted to go on the first-round of the draft. Other Georgia players with a shot to go in the first-round include linebacker CJ Allen, wide receiver Zachariah Branch and defensive lineman Christen Miller. If only one Georgia Bulldog is selected in the first-round, then that would snap the four-year streak of multiple first-round picks that Georgia has brewing.
The draft will take place in Pittsburgh from Thursday, April 23 to Saturday, April 25. Fans can watch the draft on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network. The first-round starts Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET. With the second- and third-round taking place on Friday night.
