PL Predictions: Brighton to send Spurs sliding towards the unthinkable
Brighton is set to face Tottenham this weekend, with predictions leaning towards a Brighton victory.
Stephen A. Smith reportedly turned down an offer from WWE to take on an on-screen role. Known for his work at ESPN, Smith has also ventured into acting with appearances on shows like 'General Hospital' and 'Law & Order.'
While many fans know him as the unmistakable voice behind ESPN’s flagship programming, Stephen A. Smith quietly expanded his reach beyond the studio in recent years.
He’s carved out a space in the entertainment world, landing a role on ABC’s “General Hospital” and making a one-off appearance on “Law & Order.”
With his profile continuing to grow, it’s no surprise that WWE came calling for Smith, and not to sit behind the desk as an analyst or commentator, but to explore a role on-screen.

It could be assumed that the role would have been a managerial responsibility for a show or a specific superstar, because at age 58, it’s hard to imagine Stephen A. Smith hearing out any job that would force him to take a bump.
Unfortunately for those hoping to see Stephen A. Smith step into the WWE spotlight, that crossover appears unlikely, at least beyond a fan’s perspective.
Speaking on “First Take,” Smith made it clear the opportunity wasn’t one he was eager to pursue.
While his ESPN counterpart, Pat McAfee, has fully embraced the chaos of WWE, Smith admitted he doesn’t share McAfee’s confidence.
McAfee, after all, has become a regular presence and is currently woven into a WrestleMania storyline alongside Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
Of course, in WWE, anything can happen, as fans have seen several celebrities enter the picture in recent years.
Not to mention, the company’s top star, Roman Reigns, was enamored with the idea of bringing in Stephen A. Smith last year when WWE and ESPN came together on a 5-year deal.
Reigns would also name Smith as the host he’d like to tag with, telling SAS, “If you ever want to roll with the tribal chief, just let me know.”
While there are no plans to bring in Stephen A. Smith for the foreseeable future, it’s still a door that could be kept open once Smith’s schedule opens up.
The specific reasons for Stephen A. Smith's decision to decline the WWE offer have not been disclosed.
