Inter Milan is close to securing the Serie A title after AC Milan lost 2-0 to Sassuolo. Inter can clinch the championship with a win or draw against Parma, while Napoli remains the only team that could potentially catch them.
Milan relinquished their slim hopes of catching Inter at the top of Serie A as they subsided 2-0 at mid-table Sassuolo on Sunday.

Milan endured a nightmare afternoon in Reggio Emilia. It took just five minutes for Sassuolo to take the lead through Domenico Berardi while Milan played with 10 for most of the match after Fikayo Tomori was sent off in the 24th minute for a second booking.
Armand Laurienté doubled Sassuolo’s lead in the 47th minute. A furious MassimilianoAllegri made a string of changes but Milan failed to get back into the game.
A fourth defeat in their last seven matches means the Rossoneri trail Inter by 12 points. If third-placed Milan’s form does not improve a Champions League spot could be in danger.

“I understand our fans’ frustration; we all want to secure Champions League qualification as soon as possible,” Allegri told broadcaster DAZN. “In these difficult times, we must keep our heads held high. We have three matches left to play, and with two wins, we’ll be in the Champions League.”

Barcelona could also win their league title today, without kicking a ball. Their 2-1 win at on Saturday took them 14 points clear of , whose game in hand is at , a few miles from the Camp Nou, this evening. If Real fail to win in the home city of their principal rivals then the celebrations can begin.
