The biggest question facing every WNBA team in training camp
WNBA training camps open with key questions for each team.
The Los Angeles Rams are considering their options for the 13th overall pick in the NFL Draft, particularly focusing on cornerback despite recent additions. The team still faces uncertainty in the position group, especially if key players are injured.
The Los Angeles Rams are entering the NFL Draft with a pressing question. Which position should they address with the 13th overall pick? The talent will be there regardless; however, the team has one unclear position battle that could force a selection for this crucial need.
Even with the Rams' additions at cornerback, it's not a completely solidified group yet.
Long before the move to acquire Trent McDuffie, several in sports media suggested that the Rams use the two first-round picks they possessed to add two new cornerbacks to the roster. The Rams chose to make as close to a sure bet as possible, adding McDuffie's Super Bowl teammate Jaylen Watson to the position group.
Beyond that, the cupboard is bare. There's Emmanuel Forbes Jr., but not much else. Unless the Rams have faith in a practice squad project, something that is doubtful considering they went to the veteran free agent market in 2025 to fill injury vacancies at the position, they have nothing if McDuffie or Watson goes down.
Even if Forbes steps in and plays brilliantly, something I expect him to do next season, the Rams run a three-corner rotation. Who's the third corner then? If the Rams don't add someone, those players are going to be gassed.
Beyond that, what if Kam Curl or Quentin Lake goes down? They play every snap. Others can't do the same, except maybe Kam Kinchens, but he's a starter anyway. McDuffie would likely move to fill Lake's spot in the slot if he were to get hurt, leading to the same problem.
This is why we shouldn't be surprised if the Rams select a cornerback in the first round. If not Mansoor Delane, then Colton Hood could also be an option.

The Rams should draft another cornerback due to ongoing uncertainty in the position group, even after recent additions like Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson.
The Rams added cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson to their roster ahead of the 2023 season.
If the Rams don't strengthen their cornerback position, they risk being unprepared for injuries, leaving them vulnerable in the secondary.
