Everton Enter Fight For âŹ30-40 Million Leeds Target: Does He Solve The Toffeesâ Attacking Problem?
Everton currently sit eighth in the Premier League table with 47 points from 32 matches, and their recent form backs up that mid-table standing with plenty of authority. David Moyesâ side beat Chelsea 3â0 and Newcastle United 3â2 in their last five outings, winning three of those games and scoring 10 goals in the process.
They drew 2â2 at Brentford most recently, and with a home Merseyside derby against Liverpool coming up next, they are still full of optimism. After a season of settling into their new Hill Dickinson Stadium home, Moyes is heading into the summer transfer window with a clear idea of where his squad needs help, and his latest reported target looks like a perfect fit.
Leeds United tried to sign Mohamed Amoura back in January, with Daniel Farke looking for more attacking firepower at Elland Road. The deal never quite happened, and now, according to , Everton have joined the race for the 25-year-old . The French outlet suggests that Leeds are still interested, while , who turned down a âŹ28m offer from Benfica in the winter, now want around âŹ30m and are ready to talk about a sale at the end of the season.

Wolfsburg originally signed him on loan from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2024 before making the move permanent after he put up ten goals and 12 assists in his first Bundesliga campaign. This season, Amoura has scored eight goals in 26 Bundesliga appearances, racking up 11 goal involvements in total, which works out to 0.56 per 90 minutes.
His non-penalty expected goals (npxG) sit at 0.41 per 90, which actually ranks him better than 89% of other Bundesliga forwards. He also averages 1.26 key passes per game with an xA of 0.17 per 90, putting him ahead of 63 per cent of the players in Germanyâs top flight.

Evertonâs output up front has been patchy enough this season to make a move for Amoura feel like a necessity rather than just a luxury. Moyes likes to build teams that press and break with pace, and Amoura, a forward who loves playing in open space and creates plenty of chances, suits that style well. Former Wolfsburg coach Ralph HasenhĂŒttl has previously praised him for his pace and his knack for causing defenders headaches, especially on the road.
Four of his eight Bundesliga goals this season were scored away from home, showing he can produce regardless of the venue. At a price of roughly âŹ30m, Everton could move fast to beat Leeds, who are dealing with their own budget issues after barely avoiding the drop. The fight for his signature is turning into a race against the clock, and Moyes, with a settled squad and the prospect of European football on the horizon, seems to be in the best position to get it done.
