Speaking to De Telegraaf before Verstappenās Nurburgring 24 Hours debut, GT3 driver Nicky Catsburg shared how people inside the paddock feel about the Dutchmanās appearance at the event.
He said, āI hear from all my fellow drivers around me that they think itās so cool that Max is taking part.
āSome find it a bit harder to admit that than others, because everyone naturally thinks theyāre the coolest driver. Itās a dream to battle it out with Max, the best driver of the moment.ā
āItās brilliant for the sport and the event. I hope the event now gets the attention it deserves. Iām just sure of one thing in advance: if I knock Max off the track, I wonāt be allowed back into Holland.ā
The majority of drivers taking part in this yearās race are professionals, but there will still be a significant number of amateur entries as well.

āIf it starts raining on the Nordschleife, it gets tricky,ā Catsburg added. āItās incredibly hard to judge where itās wet and where itās dry there. Then it can just get scary; Iād rather it were a teammateās turn!
āSomethingās always happening there. That makes it strategically mega-difficult, but also very interesting. Dealing with traffic is tricky. That will apply to Max too, but he has so much spare capacity that heāll handle it.ā
āI think I can assess other drivers well because Iāve been in various cars and situations myself,ā he continued. āYouāre constantly watching to see how and when a slower driver will pull over. Itās a fun game.ā
