The 27-year-old wide receiver signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, marking his third stint with the club (2024, 2025, 2026). Before stints with the Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Johnson (6-2, 195 pounds) originally entered the league with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of UCF in 2022.
Johnson totaled six receptions for 42 yards and one touchdown in seven appearances as a rookie, then his role expanded under new coach Sean Payton in 2023 as he totaled 19 catches for 284 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. After failing to make Denver's active roster in 2024, Johnson landed in Pittsburgh.
The Broncos brought Johnson back on their practice squad during the 2025 playoffs following injuries at receiver. Denver allowed his practice squad contract to expire in February, making Johnson a street free agent. Johnson has now returned to the Steelers ahead of his fifth season in the NFL.
