Paige Shiver, the former executive assistant to Michigan football's ex-coach Sherrone Moore, said Moore had "complete control" over both her emotions and her career, he "used it against" her and that he impregnated her.
Shiver, whose lip quivered as she spoke with "Good Morning America," said she wanted to keep the baby, but doctors explained there were complications due to Pompe disease, which is a genetic disorder that weakens muscle strength.
âMultiple doctors and experts told me that it wouldnât be right or healthy for me to keep the baby,â Shiver said. âYeah (I wanted to keep the baby) ⊠(Moore) said, âYou have to do whatâs right for your body.ââ
Moore, 40, was fired on Wednesday, Dec. 10, after Shiver told Michigan higher-ups that she and Moore had been involved in an affair, which, according to her interview, lasted nearly four years. Moore was arrested later that afternoon after he made his way into her home uninvited and threatened his own life with butter knives and a pair of kitchen scissors.
Shiver, who sat down with GMA, said the relationship was an "open secret" within the athletic department.
"Every time I tried to pull away ... he always had a way to pull me in and make me feel that I couldn't leave him because he was so miserable without me," Shiver told GMA, breaking her silence after more than four months of Moore's arrest making headline news.
Moore avoided jail time earlier this month, when a judge sentenced him on criminal charges stemming from the arrest, which was the fifth time Moore was in court since his arrest on Dec. 10. Prosecutors originally charged Moore with third-degree felony home invasion, a misdemeanor count of stalking related to a domestic relationship and a misdemeanor count of breaking and entering-illegal entry without the owner's permission.
Paige Shiver stated that Sherrone Moore had complete control over her emotions and career, and he impregnated her during their nearly four-year affair.
Sherrone Moore was fired after Paige Shiver disclosed their affair to Michigan higher-ups.
Paige Shiver faced complications due to Pompe disease, which led doctors to advise her against keeping the baby.
After being fired, Sherrone Moore was arrested for threatening his life with kitchen utensils after entering Shiver's home uninvited.

Shiver described hearing Mooreâs footsteps approaching her house as she ran to the door to try and lock it before he âbarges inâ and is standing feet from her, saying You ruined my life, why would you do this to meâ.
Shiver said she feared for her life and said Moore was crying and was âcoming at (her)."
In March, Moore reached a plea deal with Washtenaw County prosecutors after he pleaded no contest to malicious use of a telecommunications device and one count of trespass. He was ultimately charged with 18 months probation, but Shiver said, âHe shouldâve got more punishment than what he did.â
Shiver said Moore controlled âeverything that was going on in my lifeâ and felt U-M âdidnât do anything about it.â
Michigan officials sent GMA a statement that said it is âcommitted to ensuring a professional and respectful workplace for all members of its community.â
"The University of Michigan terminated Sherrone Moore promptly upon discovering his undisclosed workplace relationship with a direct report," Assistant Vice President for Public Affairs and Internal Communications Paul Corliss said in a statement shared with the Free Press. "His conduct violated university policy, and we expect more from our leaders. The University of Michigan is committed to ensuring a professional and respectful workplace for all members of its community."
Attorneys for Moore or Shiver did not immediately respond when asked for comment.
âThey said you know weâre really sorry about everything you went through, weâre here to protect you and help you through all this,â Shiver said of U-Mâs response when she told them of the affair.
Shiver says she felt compelled to speak out and hopes sharing her story will help âother women that are going through this (know) it doesnât need to happen and doesnât need to go this far.â
