Liverpool have made serious enquiries over a move for Sporting CP attacking midfielder Francisco Trincao, Anfield Index can exclusively reveal.
The 26-year-old has become an integral part of Joao Pereira’s side, registering 30 direct goal involvements across all competitions so far this season.
After signing a new contract last month, a €60m release clause remains active in the deal.
Whilst naturally being an attacking midfielder, Trincao has regularly featured as a right-winger who is capable of inverting onto his favoured left-foot.

He does in fact have some experience in English football, after spending the 2021/22 season on loan at Wolves, where he made 30 appearances. Similarly to PSG midfielder Vitinha, the Portuguese midfielder struggled to make an impact but has since managed to get 17 caps for his national team.
With Mohamed Salah confirming his plans to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, Trincao could be seen as an option to replace the Egyptian King.
It is yet to be seen where Trincao ranks amongst Liverpool’s options as we head into the summer transfer window. ’s has been strongly linked, whilst PSG’s has also been mentioned.
