Formula 1 fans were surprised after Charles Leclerc was spotted in a custom Fiat 500.
Stepping away from the high-performance cars that typically fill his garage, the Monegasque driver was recently spotted in the streets of his hometown in the bespoke, classic Fiat 500. While the model itself is modest, the styling is unmistakably Leclerc.
The Ferrari F1 driver has applied his signature aesthetic to the classic car with a matte black finish, prominent red and white stripes of the Monaco flag and his race number, 16, on the side.
The new arrival sits in contrast to the rest of Leclerc's jaw-dropping garage, which features a Ferrari 488 Pista Spider, a Daytona SP3 and a SF90 XX Stradale, all of which sport the same livery design. He also has a Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta, a Ferrari 275 GTB Series I and a Ferrari Purosangue.
"To think that this is parked alongside a 488 Pista and an SP3 with the same livery is so funny," an Instagram user wrote alongside footage of Leclerc with his wife Alexandra and their dog Leo in the car.
"I'm surprised that it's a car that's not a Ferrari," one fan commented, while another added: "Perfect car for Monaco. Alongside Lando's Fiat Jolly."
"The star of the collection," another fan wrote, and another posted: "Splendid... and the guys are left puzzled and amazed in the video but... It's not opulence that makes beauty, but style and class."
This comes during the five-week break between the Japanese and Miami Grands Prix. Leclerc currently sits third in the drivers' standings behind the Mercedes drivers. Kimi Antonelli became the youngest championship leader after back-to-back wins in China and Japan and his team-mate George Russell follows in second.
After the first three rounds of the season, Ferrari sits comfortably in second with 90 points, with McLaren in third with 46 points and Mercedes leading with 135 points.
