Fabio Di Giannantonio might be heading to Trackhouse in 2027 if Ducati arenât able to meet his demands to stay with VR46 before Fermin Aldeguer joins the team next season.
Trackhouse team boss Davide Brivio has said that Ogura will leave at the end of 2026, and there are strong indications heâs already signed with Yamaha. If true, Ogura would step into Alex Rinsâ spot, partnering Jorge Martin in Yamahaâs refreshed lineup.
Di Giannantonioâs current deal with Ducati is also set to run out at the end of 2026. Although talks over a new contract are ongoing, his future remains unclear as thereâs no guarantee heâll stay on.
Ducatiâs decision to bring Aldeguer into VR46 for the start of the 850cc era has added another layer of complexity. Instead of keeping him at Gresini, theyâve opted for this move, which could impact how Di Giannantonio views his place within the setup going forward.

Thereâs word going around that Ducati have promised Aldeguer factory rider status at VR46 for 2027, complete with a works-spec bike and access to the latest upgrades as soon as theyâre available. But it looks unlikely that both riders will be offered the same deal.
Thatâs become a sticking point for Di Giannantonio, who has reportedly told Ducati he wants a bike identical to Aldeguerâs if heâs going to sign an extension. The 27-year-old is keen not to fall behind within his own team, especially after three years without race wins.
If Ducati donât meet his request, Di Giannantonio may start looking elsewhere. With Ogura expected to join Yamaha next year, there could be an opening at Trackhouse â though their interest seems to depend largely on what happens with his current situation.
If Di Giannantonio joins Trackhouse, it could significantly impact the team's performance and lineup strategy for the 2027 season.
Di Giannantonio's future with Ducati is uncertain due to ongoing contract negotiations and unmet demands for a new deal.
Ogura is expected to leave Yamaha at the end of 2026, with strong indications that he has already signed to replace Alex Rins, partnering with Jorge Martin.

If things do open up between Di Giannantonio and Trackhouse â but they canât reach an agreement â both sides have backup plans in mind. The #49 rider is already drawing interest from several MotoGP teams beyond Trackhouse.
The other teams keeping tabs on him include Tech3 Racing and Pramac. On the other hand, should Trackhouse miss out on both Di Giannantonio and Rins, Joan Mir could become their next target once his time at Honda comes to an end.
