Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois faced off at a heated press conference, where their teams exchanged sharp words. The two British heavyweights will fight for the WBO title on Saturday at Co-op Live in Manchester.
Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois were overshadowed by their representatives on Thursday, as Michael Ofo and Sam Jones traded verbal barbs at a pre-fight press conference.
Saturday will bring an all-British heavyweight title fight, as Wardley defends the WBO belt against Dubois, who is a former IBF champion.
The fight will take place at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, where Wardley puts his unbeaten record on the line and aims to hand Dubois his fourth loss (and fourth via stoppage).

But before Wardley, 31, and Dubois, 28, trade punches, it was Ofo and Jones who produced the most-captivating exchanges on Thursday.
Ofo, who manages Wardley, said of Dubois: âThereâs lots of interviews heâs walked out of this week, and I donât class that as being a complete professional athlete.â
Indeed, Dubois prematurely ended an interview with journalist Ariel Helwani this week, as well as one with fight broadcaster DAZN. Helwani tweeted after his interview with the Briton: âIâve interviewed @DynamiteDubois before and have always enjoyed it. This one was on me. I should have and could have done a much better job. Much love and respect to DDD, always.â
Ofo continued: âHeâs not been professional throughout the week; Fabioâs been professional. All of our obligations, weâve turned up on time and weâve done what was required.â
Firstly, Duboisâs manager Riz Khan said, âMichael, heâs not come here for a circus, heâs come here to fight,â before Duboisâs agent Jones added: âIn the build-up, theyâve asked him some stupid questions.â

When Ofo said of Jones, âThis is the same guy that called [Dubois] a quitter previously,â Jones hit back, âMichael, youâre digging up old stuff,â and dismissed Ofoâs work with Wardley.
In turn, Ofo accused Duboisâs team of being a âbunch of yes-menâ who âencourage stupid behaviourâ.

Wardley, 31, and Dubois, 28, also had their own back-and-forths, of course.
At one point, Dubois said: âI heard you called me the âdust manâ, and Iâm gonna collect the trash, boy. Iâm gonna collect that trash. Na, itâs disrespect, so Iâm gonna put it right in the ring, boy.â
Wardley replied: âI didnât call you the âdust manâ; someone asked me what you might have as a job [if you werenât a boxer], and I said: âMight be a bin man.â There was nothing negative in that.
âDonât let other people get in your head and tell you what it comes across like. You didnât hear what I said, because you donât run your own social media. You let other people talk to you and tell you what it should be like. It wasnât like that, I didnât say it was a bad job.â
Wardley also labeled Duboisâs âmentalityâ both his greatest strength and weakness, saying: âI think sometimes youâve seen in Danielâs fights, heâs proven to be very durable, strong, mentally resilient, and in other fights, youâve seen that lacking for whatever reason â whether that be lacking confidence in training, or the team around you havenât done the right job. It depends on what Daniel turns up, I think that can be the flip of a coin sometimes.â

While Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) would not be drawn on an exact prediction for how the fight might play out, Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) specified: âItâs gonna be over and out, heâs gonna be cleaned out.
âThereâs gonna be no questions about it. Thereâs gonna be no ifs, buts, maybes. Iâm gonna land clean, land sharp, and Iâm gonna get him out of there.
âLook, I wish him all the best. I hope heâs healthy, I hope heâs happy, I hope everythingâs all good. I hope campâs gone well, I hope heâs fresh, I hope heâs in the shape of his life, because all them things are âyesâ for me.â
