Fabrizio Romano gives massive hint about Liverpool's next signing
Fabrizio Romano has just hinted at who Liverpool could sign next.
Conor Bradleyās injury earlier this season has only highlighted a problem Richard Hughes was always likely to confront.
Even with the recruitment teamās efforts, finding a true replacement for Alexander-Arnold, given his unique skill set, has proven far more challenging than expected.
Itās now becoming clear that Arne Slot sees Jeremie Frimpong more as an attacking outlet than a conventional right-back, and his own injury concerns havenāt helped the situation.
Frimpongās strengths are best suited further up the pitch, and he hasnāt been consistently relied upon in a deeper defensive role. Meanwhile, Dominik Szoboszlai has occasionally been used at right-back, but that has always appeared to be more of a short-term workaround than a long-term answer.
Beyond the defensive concerns, Liverpool are also feeling the absence of Alexander-Arnoldās creativity.
His ability to dictate play from deep and unlock defences was a key part of the teamās identity. Florian Wirtz was expected to help compensate for that loss, but so far, he has yet to fully deliver in that regard.
All signs now point toward Liverpool needing to invest in a specialist right-back in the summer window.
They had already tried to do that in the January window. Although ultimately that pursuit came to nothing. However, the Reds' interest could resurface again.
And according to Fabrizio Romano the club's next signing could be someone who they had already tried to sign a few months ago when Arne Slot was embarking on a massive crisis.
Fabrizio Romano is a well-known football journalist who hinted at Liverpool's potential next signing related to Conor Bradley's injury.

If you remember at the time, Liverpool had just been dealt the massive blow of Bradley's injury. Given how serious his set-back is, he may not be able to play until November or December of next season.
So, in order to ease the pain, Liverpool made an approach to sign Denzel Dumfries.
Ultimately, that never came to fruition. However, according to Romano, Liverpool's interest is still there and it's something to keep an eye on with there being a chance that Dumfries will become the club's next signing in the summer window.
āDenzel Dumfries is a hot topic for the summer, an issue that we need to keep monitoring. He has a release clause active in the summer, so that opens up the market potential. All the various opportunities are being explored for Dumfries. The release clause has a very limited timeframe," Romano said on his YouTube channel.
āOne team to keep an eye on Denzel Dumfries remains Liverpool. Liverpool already wanted him during the January transfer window. It wasnāt possible, partly because Dumfries was injured.
āInter wouldnāt have agreed to a loan deal in January, which was perhaps the only reason why Liverpool could even consider that kind of move, but Inter immediately said no.
āLetās see whether this summer Liverpool go back in for Dumfries. Heās certainly a player highly rated by the manager, Arne Slot. Thereās a very good feeling there, but it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will choose Dumfries as their main priority target or not.ā
When Romano speaks like this, it's a confirmation and it's a massive hint at who the Reds' next signing is. The Italian transfer expert knows his stuff and if he says this is something to watch, then there's a good chance Dumfries ends up at Anfield this summer.
