The Atlanta Falcons are considering trades ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, particularly for tight end Kyle Pitts. With only five picks and a mid-second round selection, they may look to trade down or leverage Pitts for additional draft capital.
The Atlanta Falcons are heading into the 2026 NFL Draft with just the third-best roster in the NFC South. Trouble is, they only have five picks to make and they won't be on the clock until the middle of the second round.
Trading down is one way that the front office can add more picks - but with such scant draft capital to begin with they may not get much in return. Another way they can do that is by trading one of their assets - and tight end Kyle Pitts is at the top of the list of potential trade pieces.
Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham was asked about Pitts in his pre-draft press conference alongwith head coach Kevin Stefanski. He said that he's willing to listen to offers for Pitts, or any other player.
Pitts has been mostly disappointing for a top-five overall pick. However, last season he finally started living up to his potential, posting a career-best 88 catches to go with five touchdowns and 928 yards.
That's a good sign of progress, but not enough to give Pitts a lucrative long-term contract. Hence, the Falcons are willing to at least listen to any offers they may get.
They may also get some questions about whether Drake London or Bijan Robinson are available - but they can quickly shut those talks down. Otherwise, there are really no trade-worthy pieces on this roster that any other team might really be interested in.
So, odds are if they can't find a trade partner for Pitts the Falcons will have to make do with the picks they have.
