The Atlanta Falcons did not make any first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft but are set to make crucial selections on Day 2, starting with the 48th overall pick. They are expected to focus on their defensive needs, potentially selecting Georgia defensive tackle Christen Miller.
Day 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft is in the books. The Atlanta Falcons remained idle without any first-round pick, and if someone was silly enough to offer them a first for Kyle Pitts they didn't bite.
Day 2 is where the heart of the action will be for Atlanta's new-look front office. The Falcons will be on the clock in Round 2 at No. 48 overall and then again in Round 3 at No. 79 overall.
Matt Miller at ESPN has a fresh Day 2 mock draft out this morning, and the Falcons manage to hit two of their biggest needs. First, he has Atlanta picking Georgia defensive tackle Christen Miller in the second round.
"The Falcons focus again on the defensive line after selecting two edge rushers in the first round last year, this time grabbing an anchor in nose tackle Miller. The 6-foot-4, 321-pounder easily projects as a 1-technique or nose tackle starter who has shown the strength to be a presence in a two-gapping situation."
Miller would project as a Week 1 starter in the middle of Atlanta's defensive line.
With their next pick in Round 3, Miller has the Falcons picking Washington cornerback Tacario Davis at No. 79 overall. Davis (6-foot-4, 201 pounds) is of the long, lanky breed of cornerback that the Huskies have become famous for.
After three unremarkable years at Arizona, Davis flashed big-time during his abbreviated 2025 season with Washington. In just seven games he posted two interceptions and three pass breakups.
As a rookie, Davis would likely compete with Mike Huges and C.J. Henderson for the right to start at the left boundary spot opposite star corner A.J. Terrell.
The Atlanta Falcons are expected to draft Georgia defensive tackle Christen Miller with their 48th overall pick.
