The 2026 NFL Draft begins next week and the Atlanta Falcons have some holes to fill at defensive back, linebacker, wide receiver and defensive tackle. It will be the team's first draft under the new leadership of president Matt Ryan, GM Ian Cunningham and head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Since Atlanta doesn't have a first-round pick, the team will need to find talent on Days 2-3. And with just five total selections, we expect the Falcons to have a bigger undrafted free agent class than usual. The team has met with several mid-to-late round prospects over the last month.
One pre-draft visit that went overlooked was the Falcons' meeting with Houston cornerback Latrell McCutchin Sr.
"I met with the Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans, and Broncos at Pro Day," McCutchin told SI's Justin Melo. "I probably met with 15-16 teams informally at the NFL Combine as well. Iāve met with the Tennessee Titans multiple times throughout this process, virtually and at the combine."
McCutchin is a potential Day 3 pick. The Houston standout played primarily on the outside in college. Last season, he recorded 51 tackles and nine passes defended, allowing 26 receptions on 51 targets.
The Falcons have a talented secondary but they lack depth after the early wave of NFL free agency. Versatile defensive back Dee Alford signed a big contract with the , and while the Falcons signed , we'd expect the team to add to the position in the draft.
Latrell McCutchin Sr. is a cornerback from Houston, and the Falcons are considering him as a potential mid-to-late round pick to strengthen their defensive backfield.
The Falcons need to address defensive back, linebacker, wide receiver, and defensive tackle in the upcoming draft.
The Atlanta Falcons have a total of five selections in the 2026 NFL Draft.
