Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons is highlighted as a potential 2026 NFL rushing champion. He has already achieved significant accolades, including two Pro Bowl selections and a first-team All-Pro designation.
The most-talented athlete on the Atlanta Falcons' roster isn't difficult to determine. Watch just a few minutes of the Falcons on offense and you'll see running back Bijan Robinson juking and stiff-arming his way to more yards than he should have any right to gain.
Heading into his fourth year in the NFL, Robinson has already made two Pro Bowl teams and was a first-team All-Pro last season. Robinson also won the NFC Offensive Player of the Month award in September. Along the way he's totaled 3,910 yards and scored 25 touchdowns while averaging just under five yards per carry. For an encore, he's chipped in another 1,738 yards and nine scores as a receiver.
Looking ahead, there's one honor that Robinson hasn't earned yet - but could be in his near future. Moe Moton at Bleacher Report has named Bijan among five running backs who could win the league's 2026 rushing title.
"Over the last two years, Bijan Robinson has finished third and fourth in rushing yards. He could finally finish on top with new Atlanta Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski calling the plays... Given Stefanski's track record and the Falcons' questions at quarterback, expect (Bijan) Robinson to play through the 2026 season with a high usage rate."
As Moton mentions, Stefanski's system is a run-heavy one, which should play into Robinson's hands. So long as Robinson stays healthy - he hasn't missed a game yet in his career - he'll at least be in the ball-park to lead the NFL in rushing yards.
Actually getting there will depend on one key x-factor that Robinson can only control very little of, though: the Falcons need to be playing with a lead a lot more often than they have the previous three years.
Some analysts have confused the fact that teams win by running the ball a lot, when the truth is that teams run the ball when they're winning.
Stefanski's coaching will play a big role in just how often Atlanta will be playing from ahead - as will the quarterback production they get from and/or .

One thing we don't need to worry about is Robinson's part of the equation. With Tyler Allgeier finally out of the picture, Robinson won't need to share early down snaps anymore and should be able to carry a rushing load as heavy as any back in the NFL. He has all the tools he needs to win the rushing title - he just needs the rest of the Falcons to do their part.
