The biggest question facing every WNBA team in training camp
WNBA training camps open with key questions for each team.
The FHSAA district tennis tournaments for Northeast Florida start on April 13, featuring teams from Jacksonville. The top two teams from each district will advance to the regionals on April 21 and 23.
The Florida High School Athletic Association opens tennis district tournaments April 13 across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Schedules are as listed by the FHSAA and are subject to change.
The top two teams from each district tournament advance to the regionals, which are scheduled for April 21 and 23.
At Atlantic Coast (boys), Oakleaf (girls)
Teams: Atlantic Coast, Creekside, First Coast, Fletcher, Mandarin, Oakleaf, Sandalwood, Tocoi Creek.
Dates: April 13-14. First match: 8 a.m. Finals: 8 a.m.
Outlook: A Tristan Straw-led Tocoi Creek team enters as a slight favorite on the boys side, but it's competitive: Atlantic Coast, Mandarin and Fletcher all aim to represent the Gateway Conference in the regionals, and Oakleaf could get there as well. Creekside, which has a strong top three of Caroline Cooper, Claire Mitchell and Brooke Mitchell, looks like a solid girls contender, with Fletcher and Oakleaf as the main obstacles between the Knights and top spot.
At Tom Brown Park, Tallahassee
Teams: Columbia, Lynn Haven Mosley, Panama City Beach Arnold, Tallahassee Chiles, Tallahassee Leon, Tallahassee Lincoln.
Dates: April 13-14. First match: 8 a.m. Finals: 8 a.m.
Outlook: With 12 wins, Columbia's boys team has fared well in 2026 but still enters as a district underdog against Chiles and Leon. The same two Tallahassee schools hold the upper hand in girls competition as well.
At Eagle Harbor Tennis Courts
Teams: Englewood, Fleming Island, Middleburg, Orange Park, Ridgeview, White.
Dates: April 13-14. First match: 11 a.m. Finals: 5 p.m.
Notable: It's a surprise if Fleming Island doesn't win both boys and girls competitions for this district. Zach Hyatt and Stephanie Axne give the Golden Eagles strength at No. 1 singles. Ridgeview has the inside track on the second spot for the boys and likely for girls as well, although Orange Park could also mount a playoff push.
At Southern Recreation Center, Palm Coast
Teams: Bartram Trail, Beachside, Clay, Matanzas, Nease, Ponte Vedra, St. Augustine.
Dates: April 14-15. First match: TBD. Finals: TBD.
Outlook: Nease is a reigning girls state champion but encounters serious opposition in the area's strongest district. William Chaves and Charlie Neal head a formidable lineup for the Nease boys, facing a Ponte Vedra with the tandem of Davis Miller and Dillon Landau as well as an 18-0 Matanzas squad that fields sophomore Daniel Patsula at No. 1 singles. In the girls tournament, Nease is reigning champion with Danielle Wei and Olivia Jepsen on top lines, while Ponte Vedra, Beachside and a much-improved St. Augustine are also among the challengers to reach regionals.
East sub-bracket at Albert Massey Park, Gainesville; West sub-bracket at Tom Brown Park, Tallahassee; finals at Suwannee
Teams: Alachua Santa Fe, Baker County, Bradford, Gainesville Eastside, Keystone Heights, Suwannee, Tallahassee Rickards, Wakulla.
Dates: April 15-16. First match: 9 a.m. Finals: 9 a.m.
Outlook: Not an easy district to call. The Baker County boys have the area's best chance to challenge the favorites from Eastside, Rickards and possibly Wakulla. The girls competition is even more unpredictable. Suwannee, with Brooke Fernald and Charlotte Dunn on the top two singles lines, and Keystone, with Alli Tisdale and Addison Smith, could both challenge Rickards and Eastside for a spot in regionals.
At Fernandina Beach
Teams: Fernandina Beach, Jackson, Paxon, Raines, Stanton, West Nassau, Yulee.
Dates: April 14-16. First match: 9 a.m. Finals: 9 a.m.
Outlook: Winner of both the boys and girls Gateway Conference tournaments, Stanton is the Duval County standout. The Blue Devils, led by Jay Deering at No. 1 singles, and Fernandina Beach appear on course for the two boys playoff berths. In the girls tournament, Angela Chen plays No. 1 singles for a similarly solid Stanton team, which faces off against the Nassau County trio.
At Bolles
Teams: Bishop Kenny, Bolles, Menendez, Palatka, Parker, Riverside, Westside, Wolfson.
Dates: April 13-14. First match: 9 a.m. Finals: 9 a.m.
Outlook: A district that looks like a three-way boys battle involving Bishop Kenny, Bolles and Gateway Conference runner-up Wolfson. Bishop Kenny sophomore Ben Gredenhag, at 9-0, has been among the city's best in 2026, but superior depth for Bolles and Wolfson decided the teams' prior matchups. Expect Bishop Kenny and Bolles, who played a 4-3 BK thriller on March 17, to grab the top two girls spots. The Crusaders' Eimy O'Brien and Bulldogs' Rafa Neel are in the middle of strong seasons at No. 1 singles.

At Episcopal
Teams: Bishop Snyder, Christ's Church, Episcopal, Hilliard, Providence, St. Johns Country Day, St. Joseph, Trinity Christian.
Dates: April 13-14. First match: 8 a.m. Finals: 8 a.m.
Outlook: It's advantage Episcopal in this one, particularly on the girls side, where Addie Grek and Cora Anderson play on the top two lines for a team with excellent depth. Episcopal's edge on the boys side is not as large, but team depth is again a plus. St. Johns Country Day, Christ's Church and Providence have the advantage in the crowded battle for the second regional spot.
At Jonesville Tennis Center, Gainesville
Teams: Gainesville Oak Hall, Ocala Trinity Catholic, P.K. Yonge, Redeemer Christian, Seven Rivers Christian, Union County.
Dates: April 13-14. First match: 9 a.m. Finals: 12 p.m.
Outlook: Union County is a long shot in this district, where P.K. Yonge and Oak Hall have been the traditional top two of late.
