A journalist criticizes a Chelsea player, Marc Guiu, for rarely appearing in matches and being mostly absent from the pitch. The player is described as a 'ghost' on the team, often seen only on the substitutes' bench.
âFile under pointless signingsâ â Journalist slams Chelsea player whoâs become a ghost
The ghost of Marc Guiu is sometimes seen on a Chelsea subs bench now and then, but rarely does it appear on the pitch.
You can spot it in training too, but as far as wearing a Chelsea shirt goes, that is often just being forced to stay underneath a jacket on match days at best.

Guiu has been described as a pointless signing by journalist Matt Law this week as he assesses some of the signings BlueCo have made for the club.
Law has been going through a list of players that he would sell at Chelsea this summer, and Guiu is of course one of the names on the list.

In the article for The Telegraph today, Law says:
âFile under pointless signings. Marc Guiu was among the substitutes against City at the weekend and yet it is hard to think of a scenario which might have seen the young striker sent on. Still only 20, Guiu may well go on to have a successful career and it is far too early to write him off. But the ÂŁ5m signing from Barcelona is very unlikely to ever get a proper chance at Chelsea and keeping him would not do the player nor the team much good. A club with Chelseaâs ambitions should not have room for players such as Guiu on the bench.â
