After missing the first 12 games of the season due to an arthroscopic left knee surgery he had in the offseason, George was bit up-and-down in terms of his production. He was unable to play in back-to-backs and struggled to really find any type of rhythm out on the floor. He was averaging 16.0 points and shooting 38.2% from deep in 27 games before the 25-game suspension he was hit with in January. He then averaged 21.0 points and shot 41.5% from deep in the 10 games he played in after the suspension.
As far as the playoffs are concerned, he shot a blistering 49.3% from deep on 6.5 attempts per game. He was productive throughout the 11 games he played for Philadelphia and was instrumental in the 3-1 comeback against the Boston Celtics in Round 1. However, it was a tough ending for him in Round 2. He scored 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting in the first quarter of Game 3 against the Knicks, but then only had seven points on 3-for-16 shooting in the final seven quarters of the series as the Sixers were swept. It was a tough ending to what was a solid season for him.
On the floor, George was terrific for the Sixers. He gave them everything they were looking for at the wing position, but the 25-game suspension is factored into his overall grade. While the suspension was something of a positive for him as he was able to truly rest and work on his game, that's still 25 games where he was unavailable for Philadelphia. The Sixers will need him to be more available in the 2026-27 season.
Final grade: C-plus
