Speaking about the challenge of facing Madrid, he said, âWe want to win at home. We have a fantastic team and the fans are behind us.
âItâs a ClĂĄsico for them too, and theyâll want to win. Thatâs only natural.
âAt the end of the day, El ClĂĄsico is important for everyone â for them and for us. Weâre playing at home and we want to win.â
When pressed further about internal conflicts at Real Madrid, the Barcelona boss added,
âIt happens all over the world. Not just at Real. I was a bit surprised, but I donât mind. Itâs not my club. Itâs not my team. I donât think about it.â
Flick also reserved huge praise for Mbappe, describing the French superstar as one of the biggest threats in world football despite the fact that he will not be available tomorrow.
âMbappe is one of the best in the world. He has incredible quality. Heâs a real threat in any situation. In front of goal, with his quality, heâs the best in my opinion.â
Barcelona are now on the verge of winning a second consecutive La Liga title under Flick, something the German coach sees as a major achievement for such a young team.
âI think winning La Liga twice is a huge achievement for us. Weâre not there yet. Weâre close, but we want to take that final step.â
The Barcelona manager also reflected on the importance of the Clasico itself while refusing to label it the biggest game of his career.
âI want to focus on the match. Itâs not a normal match. But Iâm not going to say itâs the most important one.
âItâs important for the fans, the club, the players and us. We want to win a second title in a row. Thatâs not normal in Spain.
âThatâs what we want to do. Weâre focusing on our performance, on how we want to play.â
The German manager then explained how communication and unity remain essential inside his own squad.

âThe most important thing, and what I appreciate most about this club, is that weâre all on the same page.
âWhen something happens, weâre all on the same wavelength. These things happen in football, in life. Itâs not normal, but it happens.
âItâs better to communicate. Thatâs the first thing. Thatâs how we do it.â
Flick also addressed the idea that ego can damage success within top teams.
âI donât want to talk about Real Madrid and what goes on there; itâs not my job. But itâs true, itâs all about the team. The âweâ. From my point of view, thatâs important.â
Finally, the Barcelona coach highlighted the special atmosphere created by the clubâs La Masia graduates, many of whom have grown together through the academy system.
âThe bond between them all is incredible. Theyâve known each other for many years and itâs brilliant. But the atmosphere they create is something truly special.
âWhen you think about winning a second title with such a young team. The attitude they show every day.
âIt wonât be easy to pick a starting XI tomorrow because almost everyone is back and theyâve all performed at an incredible level,â he concluded.
