Florida football is expanding its wide receiver targets for the 2027 recruiting cycle and one name that has emerged is 6-foot, 170-pound Taurean Rawlins out of Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Known for his speed and big-play ability, Rawlins would be a dynamic addition to the Gators No. 6-ranked class. Already slated as a top receiver in the state, Rawlins is quickly rising as a national prospect.
A product of Mount Vernon High School, Rawlins tallied 67 receptions for 1,395 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior. This productivity earned the three-star pass-catcher an offer from Jon Sumrall and company this spring, and the staff has prioritized the speedster as a piece to bolster its incoming skill position group.
After entering the race for Rawlins in recent months, the Gators are hoping to shake up the explosive perimeter athlete's official visit schedule, according to On3. The Peach State recruit touts track speed and elite route-running ability ā all of which make him dangerous after the catch.
The Gators boast a strong group of pass catchers between the 2026 recruiting class and their current commitments in the 2027 cycle. They are also in the mix for multiple blue-chip receivers on the national scene, including five-star Louisiana native Easton Royal.
Rawlins is ranked No.Ā 474 overall and No.Ā 58 at his position nationally according to theĀ 247Sports composite,Ā while theĀ Rivals industry rankingĀ has him at Nos.Ā 445 and 63, respectively.
He has 18 total offers, including six other SEC schools. Among them, Georgia currently leads the pack with a 35.1% probability of signing the hometown prospect, followed by Vanderbilt (16.2%) and Arkansas (13.5%).
