Florida baseball moved up to No. 21 in the D1Baseball rankings after winning two of three games against Oklahoma. This marks their first series win since mid-April, snapping a three-game losing streak.
Florida baseball earned its first series win since mid-April this weekend by taking two of three from the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman, with the Saturday victory snapping a three-game losing streak.
As a result, the Gators moved up the D1Baseball rankings from the edge at No. 25 to No. 21 this week. That puts Kevin O'Sullivan's squad between the No. 20 Ole Miss Rebels â who took two of three in Gainesville at the beginning of April â and the No. 22 Boston College Eagles.
The Orange and Blue did not play a midweek game this time around, allowing the team to focus on its SEC matchup. Florida dropped the series opener on Friday night, 4-3, despite yet another gem from Aidan King as an eighth-inning bullpen meltdown led to its demise. However, the bats showed up on Saturday and Sunday, giving the Gators leads that could not be overcome â a 10-5 victory on Saturday followed by an eight-inning run-ruled 13-2 triumph in the finale.
Next up for Florida is its final midweek affair, coming against the North Florida Ospreys at Condron Family Ballpark on Tuesday night. Following that is the Gators' penultimate weekend series of the regular season, as well as the final home series, against the Kentucky Wildcats.
