Portland Trail Blazers to skip fan T-shirts for playoff games
Florida baseball dropped from No. 20 to No. 21 in the D1Baseball rankings after losing three games last week, including a midweek loss to Bethune-Cookman and two out of three against Auburn. This follows a previous week where they had notable victories against top-five teams.
Florida baseball's rollercoaster season continued to oscillate this week, with the team losing its midweek game at home to the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats before dropping two of three to the Auburn Tigers at Condron Family Ballpark in a Thursday through Saturday series.
As a result, the Gators slipped slightly in the latest D1Baseball rankings from No. 20 to No. 21. That puts them between the No. 20 Nebraska Cornhuskers and No. 22 Boston College Eagles.
The Orange and Blue had won three of four against a pair of top-five teams the week prior, finishing off a season sweep of the Florida State Seminoles before taking a three-game road series from the Georgia Bulldogs. The week before that, Florida lost its midweek game to the Jacksonville Dolphins before dropping two of three at home to the Ole Miss Rebels.
Is there a pattern forming here? It certainly seems like it. Look back one more week, and the Gators won all four games — one in Jacksonville against FSU and sweeping the road series at the Arkansas Razorbacks.
If the trend holds up — and hopefully it does, at least for the upswing — Kevin O'Sullivan's squad should see success at home against Jacksonville on Tuesday and the seventh-ranked Texas A&M Aggies this weekend.
In the meantime, take a look at D1Baseball's top 25 rankings after the 10th week of college baseball play.
