Florida surging for elite 2027 defensive line target Cain Van Norden
Florida football secured a huge summer official visit from three-star defensive lineman Cain Van Norden. The No. 94-ranked lineman in the 2027 cycle replaced a previously scheduled trip to Michigan State with a stint in Gainesville.
The 6-foot-7-inch, 265-pound District Heights, Maryland, native is a standout at Bishop McNamara and quickly surged near the top of Florida's recruiting board this spring. Van Nordan is a dual-sport athlete, finding success on the hardwood as well as the gridiron. With high-level athleticism for his size, the blue-chip recruit touts length, agility and the ability to rush the passer.
Official visits season continues for Florida, which still has opportunities to improve its No. 6-ranked recruiting class. Van Norden is set to visit Florida from June 4-6, along with trips with Michigan State, Syracuse, Ole Miss and Maryland set for this summer.
Cain Van Norden recruiting summary
Van Norden is ranked No. 843 overall and No. 94 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite, while the Rivals industry ranking has him at Nos. 825 and 79, respectively. He has 19 standing offers, including three other SEC programs.
Florida currently leads Rivals' projections to land Van Norden at 38.8%, followed by Virginia Tech at 25.8% and Ole Miss at 22.1%.
