Flyers, Sixers return home down 2-0 in second round of playoffs
Both Philadelphia teams are down 2-0 in what is shaping up to be another long playoff series to win the best-of-seven games in the second round.
The Sixers and Flyers look a bit worn out after grueling matchups to make it to the second round of the playoffs.
"Flyers are hurting, they're struggling," said fan Jay Brinkley. "I'm going to say it might be seven games again, and that might put us in the same predicament it did before. I think the Sixers can come back and win four straight. That would be great."
"It's been going down to the wire," said fan Kendell Ball. "I think as far as the playoffs, it's definitely living up to the hype."
The Sixers' six-point loss Wednesday night against the New York Knicks was far from the 38-point blowout in Game 1, but a loss is a loss.
"It's 2-0. It puts a lot on this next game," said Sixers head coach Nick Nurse.
"I think it's going to be a dog fight. Really good team and it's going to come down to the wire," said Sixers guard V.J. Edgecombe.
The Sixers had to go without center Joel Embiid since he's injured and seemed like they ran out of gas in the final minutes.
Point guard Tyrese Maxey stepped up and played almost the entire game, but the team needed big plays near the end.
"It's going to be extremely physical and extremely competitive and it's going to come down to who makes plays at the end of the game," said Maxey.
The Flyers are also down 2-0 in the second round of the playoffs.
The Flyers will have to find a way to win four games without Noah Cates.
Head coach Rick Tocchet said it's a big loss without Cates on the ice, but they'll make it work.
Both the Flyers and Sixers are currently down 2-0 in their respective playoff series.
Fans are expressing concern about the teams' struggles, with some predicting a long series ahead.
To turn the series around, both teams need to win their upcoming home games and aim for a comeback in the best-of-seven format.
