'Football is for the fans' - Pep delighted with season ticket announcement
The club officially confirmed its pricing policy for the 2026/27 campaign earlier today with the cost of general admission season tickets and match by match general tickets renewed at the same rate for the third consecutive season.
The welcome news comes at a time when many families are having to budget carefully due to the cost-of-living issues as well as dealing with other pressures on household finances.
And addressing the media at Fridayâs pre-match press conference ahead of Saturdayâs FA Cup semi-final against Southampton, the boss spoke of his pleasure at the news and stressed again how football is for the fans.
âHats off for my chairman and CEO. This business doesnât work without the fans,â Pep said.
âImagine playing how it was in COVID time when we didnât have people in our stadium?
âOf course, the club needs financially to have other sources to [be able to] buy the best players as possible, to continue to pay the players, and of course itâs necessary but when the club think OK they can find it another way [itâs good].
âThe situation in the world is difficult so not to increase the season tickets, it means a lot.
âAgain, [it shows] how special is this club, how good it is.
âWe donât judge other clubs. They can do what they want.
âFootball is for the fans.
âOf course we have to think about sponsors, to think about all this stuff, because otherwise it would not be sustainable.
âBut fans are the key for how this business can go on.
âTomorrow, they [our fans] come back [at Wembley] and then we have the last few games that we have at home, and hopefully they can be there too.â
Pep Guardiolaâs brilliant Blues are on the hunt for yet more silverware under Wembleyâs famous arch.
We return to the national stadium on Saturday 25 April in a 17:15 (UK) kick-off for our FA Cup semi-final with Southampton.
And Members can be there with prices starting from ÂŁ30 for adults and ÂŁ20 for U18s and over 65s.
As weâve seen with other recent Wembley visits, itâs an occasion not to be missed!
