Jones spent his 2025 season with the Miami Dolphins, recording 77 total tackles, six passes defended, two forced fumbles and one interception. He played and started in all 17 regular-season games for the Dolphins, further establishing himself as a key contributor. He spent the previous season starting in the defensive backfield for the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Patriots selected Jones in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. One of his career highlights for the team was a pick-six on legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a game against the Green Bay Packers.
He finished his run with the Patriots with 42 tackles, seven passes defended, one forced fumble and two interceptions, before he was ultimately released by the team in 2023.
Jones will now have an opportunity to compete in one of the toughest divisions in football in the NFC West, which features the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams.
At 28 years old, the former Arizona State standout has flashed potential at times throughout his NFL career. His confidence has steadily improved through more opportunities on the football field. He'll try to use every bit of that to find success in his newest venture with the 49ers.
