Forgotten Liverpool star could be the answer to one of Arne Slot's problems
Liverpool have a lot of changes coming their way this summer.
Several players are exiting Anfield which means that signings will need to be made.
And, now that Hugo Ekitike could be out of action for the next 9-12 months, there's been a massive spanner thrown into the Reds' plans.
Injuries have plagued Arne Slot's team this season and, if he had the chance, he'd have probably brought in one or two players during the January transfer window.
However, since Fenway Sports Group operate a sell-to-buy policy, that hasn't been an option.
This policy could also massively hinder the deals that they make in the summer transfer window which is why one of Slot's forgotten stars could be the answer to some of his problems.
At the moment, Harvey Elliott's career has hit a bit of a wall due to the conditions laid out in his season-long loan deal to Aston Villa.
Most fans, pundits and journalists all thought that the Englishman would become a key cog in Unai Emery's system, but, since the Spaniard has decided that he doesn't like the way he plays, he's hardly played him.
Liverpool is anticipating several player departures, which will require new signings to fill the gaps.
Hugo Ekitike could be sidelined for 9-12 months due to injury.
Arne Slot is a coach at Liverpool, and he is facing challenges in managing the team's roster due to upcoming player exits and injuries.

Indeed, a lot of this is due to the obligation to buy within Elliott's loan deal that gets activated once he's played 10 games for the Villans.
But, since he hasn't met that threshold yet and isn't likely to, he's going to be on his way back to L4 in summer.
Most people expect Slot to try and move the 23-year-old on again in the summer but, realistically, he could stay and save the club an awful lot of money.
Since Ekitike is likely to be out of action until at least January 2027, Liverpool are going to be down an attacker.
Indeed, Alexander Isak has returned from his recent injury but, if the Reds want to start competing for trophies again, they're going to need plenty of depth among their ranks.
And, while Elliott isn't an out-and-out forward, the fact that Florian Wirtz could be used as more of a winger for the first half of next season makes keeping the Englishman a possibility.
This is because, when Elliott played under Jurgen Klopp, he always thrived when used as an attacking-midfielder.
However, when Slot took over, Dominik Szoboszlai was used there which meant that Elliott was looked over.
So, if the Reds only have a limited budget next term, keeping Elliott around would save them spending tens of millions on a new winger when they have a an option already waiting among their ranks.
