Ruud Gullit has said what most Chelsea fans are already well aware of: the job at Stamford Bridge is not nearly as tempting as it used to be, and has pretty much lost its appeal to the very top coaches.
The squad isnât ready to compete at the top, and those coaches wonât get the control they want to change that.
âYes [itâs lost its appeal], because any manager would see what I see and say: âI need experienced players. I need a Casemiro, a [Aurelien] Tchouameni. I need these types of players in midfield. I need this kind of experience alongside the young talentâ. And if you donât have them, itâs going to be a problem,â the former Blues boss said in quotes picked up by Goal.com.
Instead, Chelsea coaches are told when theyâre being interviewed that their power is going to be limited, and that the model will be youngsters with no high wage seniors to keep them in line.
