Former Iowa Hawkeyes player Addie Deal has announced her transfer to the Wisconsin Badgers. The five-star recruit shared her decision on Instagram, expressing excitement for the new chapter.
Former Iowa Hawkeyes starter Addie Deal announced she'd be joining the Wisconsin Badgers.
Deal took to Instagram on April 15 with the caption, "ALL INNN!! Go Badgers, baby!"
The 6-foot California native was a five-star high-school prospect who started just three of the Hawkeyes 34 games a year ago. An injury allowed Deal to enter the starting lineup, but she was quickly pulled as the team went on a three-game losing streak.
Deal averaged 5.1 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 rebounds per game in her freshman season. She shot 39.4% from the field as she averaged 15.5 minutes per game.
Keep in mind, Deal's breakout game came against No. 12 Ohio State. Wisconsin's newest player dropped 20 points on the Buckeyes, which, to no surprise, is her career high. For what it's worth, Deal did finish six games with 10+ points a year ago, including 11 against No. 2 UCLA.
Deal played 23 minutes against Wisconsin on March 1, 2026. She was 1-of-4 from the field in that game (1-of-3 from three) and finished with three points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Just a few hours prior to Deal announcing she'd be making the move to Madison, first-year head coach Robin Pingeton landed Kadidia Toure, a forward who averaged a double-double last year and was the NEC Player of the Year.
