A former Georgia Bulldogs, Florida State Seminoles, and Oklahoma Sooners edge rusher is getting a shot at the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks have signed edge rusher Marvin Jones Jr. as an undrafted free agent, according to the Oklahoma football X account.
Jones Jr. started as one of the best high school recruits in the class of 2022. Coming out of American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he was a member of 247Sports' All Freaks List of 2022. He was a five-star prospect who ranked as the No. 2 edge rusher prospect and No. 21 overall prospect in the nation.
The Bulldogs earned his commitment on Dec. 15, 2021. Unfortunately, in two seasons with the Bulldogs, Jones Jr. struggled to break into the rotation. He had just 16 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks through two seasons. He did help lead Georgia to win the 2022 national championship, but after the 2023 season, he entered the transfer portal.
Jones Jr. landed with the Florida State Seminoles and performed better, recording 25 tackles, six tackles for loss, and four sacks in 2024. However, he had just 16 pressures on the season. The Seminoles went from 13-0 the year prior to 2-10 in 2024, so he transferred again.
