If you had Johnny Manziel stepping into the ring for a fight on this year's bingo card, you're really up right now.
The former Texas A&M Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback will make his debut on the undercard of Adin Ross' fight event in Miami against Bob Menery, according to Dana White. But this sounds more like a publicity stunt than anything. Even White has his doubts this will all come together.
"Menery is back," White said. "He has supposedly signed a deal at Adin Ross' fight show down in Miami to fight Johnny Manziel. Menery hits me up and says 'Who are you betting on?' I said, 'I'm betting on you don't even show up.' That's my bet. Menery never does anything he says he's going to do."
The news of Manziel starting his fighting career seems unusual to say the least. Not known for trying to throw down, but it might be a good use of his athletic ability. Some ex-football players have found success in combat sports.
Manziel won college football's top award after an electric dual-threat season in College Station 14 years ago. He was the first freshman and only the fifth player in NCAA history to throw for at least 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in a season. After a sophomore slump, he was taken 22nd overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The NFL struggle for Manziel lasted two seasons before an exit to the CFL and the eventual end of his professional career in the AFL, which lasted a combined four seasons between four different teams.
