The former Iowa State star announced on April 12 that she had committed to play for the LSU womenâs basketball team for the upcoming season.
Itâs a big pickup for LSU coach Kim Mulkey who was posing in a picture with Williams when she made the announcement. Mulkey gets an elite ball handler, strong defender and dynamic scorer.

Williams showed off all those traits during her one season at Iowa State averaging 15.5 points, 7.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. Williams replaced former Cyclones point guard Emily Ryan and showed there was little drop-off in play.
Williams finds herself now playing for one of the most elite programs in the country while being led by one of the best coaches in the history of womenâs basketball.
Williams ranked in the top five nationally in both season assists and assists per game. Williams posted the second-best Iowa State single-season mark for assists behind only Ryan.
The highlight of Williamsâ one season with the Cyclones came when she poured in an Iowa State Big 12 game and Hilton Coliseum record 44 points on 15-of-22 shooting during a win over Cincinnati.
Williams credited her time at Iowa State with helping her find her love of the game again. It showed with Williams having the best season of her collegiate career earning first-team All-Big 12 honors.
